Game freezes or crashes when exiting to desktop

Several PC players say MW4 hangs and then crashes every time they choose Exit to Desktop. One player also says menu audio cuts out after returning to the lobby from a match. Players currently close the game from Steam instead. No acknowledgement from Infinity Ward or Activision yet.

How we label issues

Kind

  • Exploit: Repeatable and clearly advantageous to the player using it; essentially cheating.
  • Bug: Everything else: crashes, launch errors, broken features, visual or audio faults.
